About The Position
Arise is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Community Habilitation services in Locke, NY to a man in his mid-30’s. He is generally quiet, easy going, and kind. He enjoys watching his favorite shows, anything Christmas, and listening to music/ bands. He is nonverbal and communicates using sounds, gestures, body language, and facial expressions. He benefits from someone who can encourage and support him to maintain his skills for independent living and communication. He and his family are looking for a dedicated staff to provide him with support and assist him with maintaining his independence both at home and in community settings.
Requirements
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience a plus but not required
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.

Benefits
- All new hires must complete a five-hour initial training course online; the training rate is $17/hour.
