About The Position
Arise is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide Respite services in Locke, NY to a man in his mid-30’s. He is generally quiet, easy going, and kind. He enjoys watching his favorite shows, anything Christmas, and listening to music/ bands. He is nonverbal and communicates using sounds, gestures, body language, and facial expressions. We are looking for a patient, kind, and reliable individual to support him to give his family well-deserved respite. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, patient, and friendly to provide him with support and assistance while providing his family with a well-deserved respite. Prior experience a plus but not required- Guidance on activities and training will be provided by the family in conjunction with the agency supervisor.
Requirements
- Valid NYS driver's license
- Reliable vehicle
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience a plus but not required
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred
