Gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship, and earn a certification by becoming one of the state's first DSP apprentices. As a DSP apprentice, you will prepare for a rewarding career in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) field. You will gain knowledge of Indiana’s Medicaid Waiver structure, best practices, service standards, and the effective management of a SIRS program. Through shadowing and hands-on experience, you will provide direct support to individuals by implementing person-centered support, wellness, and behavior plans. You will also learn to respect and understand the rights of those you support, ensure their safety, recognize individual needs, and promote independence across a variety of service settings.
