Our crisis homes provide support and supervision to person's served with disabilities and/or mental illness that need crisis intervention services and/or behavioral programs to rehabilitate/stabilize, and transition persons served back to permanent housing. The role of staff is to maintain safety and to support person served to allow them to be the best they can be, individually and/or within the community while reducing distress and providing a purpose in their lives.

  • 3 years of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination preferred

  • Valid Driver's license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance
  • 3 years of experience working with individuals with severe mental illness, crisis, physical interventions, and behavior supports.
  • Experience with challenging behaviors of property destruction, manipulation, inaccurate reporting, elopement, paranoia, substance abuse, isolation and/or self-injury.
  • At least 3 years of experience in using positive redirection and behavior modification programs.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions including bipolar, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, antisocial personality disorders, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Support participants with developmental goals like budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
  • Assist people with their personal hygiene.
  • Support individuals who can have behavioral challenges and other complex needs.
  • Implement formal/informal crisis plans, program plans and/or behavioral objectives using person-centered planning.
  • Maintain documentation, record keeping and participate in regular meetings and complete required training.
  • Take initiative when responding to a crisis, monitor the safety of persons served, and provide support and supervision in a positive therapeutic manner with the least restrictive methods of positive intervention.
