Requirements

  • At least 6 months experience as a DSP or similar role
  • Experience supporting people with disabilities (required)
  • Strong knowledge of behavior supports, vocational training, and team collaboration
  • Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record
  • Ability to assist with lifting and transfers up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • one year preferred experience as a DSP or similar role

Responsibilities

  • Train, support, and guide individuals served in production and day programming skills
  • Promote growth, well-being, and autonomy through positive role modeling and choice-based support
  • Create a warm, upbeat, team-focused environment rooted in dignity and respect
  • Implement behavior supports, skill-building plans, and vocational goals outlined in each person’s Plan for the Future
  • Assist with vocational assessments, team meetings, and progress reports
  • Support and guide other DSPs, including monitoring documentation and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate records including data collection, MARs, IFRs, and reports
  • Become medication certified and follow all medication and safety protocols
  • Ensure quality control of production work and train others on procedures
  • Know emergency procedures and lead monthly fire drills
  • Attend staff meetings and agency trainings
  • Step into supervisory coverage when needed and help keep operations running smoothly
