Provides support to help individuals participate in activities and develop life skills. This role involves one-on-one support to build interpersonal and life skills as outlined in each person's PCP or individualized employment plan. The position requires maintaining documentation of individual activities, submitting reports to appropriate Workforce staff, and reporting weekly to the Workforce Manager on the progress of assigned individuals. Additionally, the role assists in maintaining positive relationships with families, guardians, and community partners, and ensures adherence to all applicable safety laws, regulations, and policies. The Direct Support professional is responsible for completing accident and incident reports immediately, assisting with planning and implementing daily activities, and providing personal care for some participants. Transportation of participants on outings using Goodwill vehicles is also a key responsibility.
