Direct Support Associate
About The Position
Easterseals NH is looking for a Direct Support Associate (DSA) to join our Community Based Services team! This program supports individuals with developmental disabilities and complex medical needs living within our residential homes. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Sunday-Wednesday, 9 PM-7 AM, and is an asleep overnight position. The role offers the opportunity to attend paid internal NADSP training to become a certified Direct Support Professional, which leads to career advancement and pay increases. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance
Nice To Haves
- Experience providing direct support or direct care
Responsibilities
- Support in promoting independence, creating a safe environment, and providing companionship to clients in a residential home setting.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as personal care and medication administration.
- Assisting with lifting, transferring, and mobility support.
- Support and assist with household tasks such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry.
- Accompany individuals on outings such as daily activities, appointments, and community events.
- Follow each individual's care plan.
- All staff will undergo training in conflict resolution and behavioral health safety.
- Complete required daily documentation on a computer or tablet.
- Other duties as needed or assigned.
