About The Position

Miller Industries is seeking a Direct Sales Account Manager for the east coast of the United States for the Flex Air Division. Flex Air specializes in delivering industry-leading, high-performance modular mechanical and electrical systems, as well as Custom HVAC systems for the automotive, semiconductor, healthcare, and education sectors. Miller Industries is a family-operated, private equity-backed company that designs, engineers, and manufactures custom modular solutions across multiple locations. They have experienced significant revenue growth and are committed to expanding their team and fostering employee development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university. Equivalent experience considered.
  • At least five (5) years in the HVAC industry is preferred, preferably in the Manufacturing, Air Handling, HVAC and Construction industries.
  • Previous sales experience is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize accordingly.
  • Knowledge of contracts, negotiating, and proposal development and an eagerness to learn.
  • Self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently.
  • Must have good people skills and an appreciation for relationship selling.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills and knowledge of computer-based CRM tools.
  • Must be comfortable with cold calling both via the telephone and face to face.
  • Must have professional written, verbal and presentation skills and willingness to engage with a diverse customer base.
  • Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have the ability to motivate and produce quality presentation material and sales collateral within tight timeframes while simultaneously managing multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of the air handling, HVAC, manufacturing, and construction industries.
  • Experience reading and interpreting plans and specifications is a plus.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking at associations, trade meetings, and corporate engagements along with being highly self-motivated.
  • Travel is expected 75% of time.

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze and monitor target industries and competitive factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity.
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, opportunities, and pricing, with the Director of Sales.
  • Advise, direct, and represent Flex Air at trade associations and industry or business meetings to promote product/services/Flex Air.
  • Attend monthly ASHRAE events to further industry knowledge and grow the Flex Air footprint.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities, products, and services of the competition.
  • Support sales forecasting activities while “mining” for new opportunities in our core area of focus.
  • With direction from the Director of Sales, develop, direct, and oversee account management functions with a focus on developing new customers.
  • Develop and recommend product/service positioning, presentation, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible profitability and long-term market share.
  • With the guidance from the Director of Sales, initiate, develop, and maintain in-depth relationships with the Company’s customers to ensure renewals and cooperation during the longevity of the customers.
  • Work closely with estimating and application engineering to thoroughly understand scope of opportunities and association costs.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.
