About The Position

Scaling.com helps established business owners 10x their companies in three years or less. As far as we know, we are the only true scaling research advisory firm in the world. Not “growth,” but scale. We work with entrepreneurs doing $1 million or more in revenue (With many of our clients between $100M and $1B+) who are ready to stop being the bottleneck and build a company that scales. Our creative library includes multiple NYT best-selling books, large podcast appearances, keynotes, live events, client/member interviews, case studies, client/member training material, webinars, founder content, and hundreds of verified customer stories. Why This Role Exists Scaling.com tests hundreds of hooks each week. When the market tells us a hook is working, this role turns that signal into a larger family of direct-response video ads. We are looking for someone who has already written high-performing video creative and scripts at the volume and quality required to support multiple millions of dollars in monthly ad spend. You will not begin with a blank page. You will receive a winning hook, a proven video ad, or a clear performance signal. Your job is to understand why it worked, find the strongest evidence and source material connected to it in our media library, develop the angle, write new versions, and hand the production team a clear creative direction that can become a finished ad. This is primarily a video-ad strategy and scriptwriting role. It combines direct-response strategy, AI-assisted research, source mining, writing, creative iteration, and performance learning. You should also be capable of handling other direct-response copywriting needs when required, but video scripts are the center of the job.

Requirements

  • Direct-response video-ad work with clear personal ownership and measurable outcomes such as spend, qualified leads, booked calls, conversion, revenue, or lift against a control. Your past work should demonstrate the volume, quality, and judgment required to sustain multiple millions of dollars in monthly ad spend.
  • The ability to explain why a hook or ad worked and how you turned that learning into the next test.
  • Experience selling a complex, intangible, high-consideration offer. Expert-led, education, or information businesses are strongly preferred.
  • Strong research judgment across transcripts, testimonials, long-form content, books, customer language, and performance data.
  • A real AI-enabled research and writing workflow that increased speed or creative range without producing generic work.
  • Fast, decisive collaboration with producers, editors, and designers.
  • Excellent judgment around claims, testimonials, attribution, and source accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • This Role Is Not Brand copy without a measurable action
  • Generic content strategy
  • Starting every assignment from a blank page
  • Prompt output passed off as thinking
  • A writer who disappears after handoff
  • A project-management layer between strategy and production

Responsibilities

  • Receive winning hooks, proven video ads, winners and losers, hook data, creative references, and testing requests from our Head of Content and paid-media team.
  • Diagnose why it worked: the audience, pain, belief, promise, proof, curiosity, identity, or objection it activated. Continually contribute original concepts, competitor references, and new test ideas to the team's shared concept pool.
  • Use AI to search our content database for supporting material across testimonials, founder podcasts, books, posts, keynotes, trainings, member stories, and excerpts from our twice-yearly live events. Stay deeply current by regularly consuming our books, every founder podcast appearance and keynote, live-event content, trainings, and the weekly case-study podcast produced for our members.
  • Build an evidence bank around the angle. This may include dozens of testimonials, short proof points, founder clips, book lines, customer language, objections, and supporting stories.
  • Write three or four new hook options, develop the body, choose the proof sequence, and create a clear flow for the video ad.
  • Package the developed angle for a Creative Producer and Editor. Give them the message, key lines, source material, intended flow, and what the ad must accomplish without prescribing every visual decision.
  • Review the finished ad to protect the strategy and clarify anything that was lost in execution.
  • When an ad wins, create new variations by changing the hook, body, proof, order, framing, or CTA, and by recombining elements from multiple winners.
  • When the paid-media team flags a winning ad for refresh, identify what should be preserved and what should change so the next version can beat it.
  • Repeat the cycle quickly. Some ads may only perform for a few weeks because we intend to scale spend aggressively.
