About The Position
We are searching for an experienced Direct Labor at our Kalamazoo, MI facility. This role starts at $18/hour with the ability to earn $18.95 within a year. The primary duties involve setting up and operating a variety of woodworking machines and using various hand tools to fabricate and assemble doors.
Requirements
- Work with hand tools
- Read door tags and tape measure
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Sets up and operates woodworking machines such as power saws, jointer, molder, and shaper, to cut and shape parts from wood stock.
- Trims component parts of joints to ensure snug fit.
- Bores holes for insertion of screws or dowels.
- Glues, fits, and clamps parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit.
- Drives nails or other fasteners into joints at designated places to reinforce joints.
