Direct Caregiver
About The Position
Western Tidewater Community Service Board (WTCSB) is seeking Direct Caregivers (Direct Support Professionals) for various departments, including Assisted Living Facility, Residential Homes, and Day Support Program in Suffolk, VA. WTCSB's mission is to provide a coordinated system of quality recovery-oriented care in Mental Health, Intellectual Disability, and Substance Abuse Services to the citizens of the cities of Franklin and Suffolk and the counties of Isle of Wight and Southampton. The organization values staff, supports diversity, and promotes excellence and personal choice in consumer care.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED Certificate
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable DMV record
- Experience with those that are Developmentally Disabled/Mental Health or residential setting
- Food Handlers Certification
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the implementation of consumer treatment plans
- Caring for, monitoring, evaluating, and maintenance of a safe environment for individuals identified with one or more of the following: Developmental Disabilities (Adult or Child), Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) (Children /Adolescents), Serious Mental Illness and/or Substance Abuse (SMI/SA).
