About The Position
Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking Experienced Direct Care staff to work in small residential group homes within our Meadows Homes located throughout the local Hampden County area. We work with adults with intellectual, physical and developmental disabilities. Each home has between 2-5 residents. We help them with a variety of tasks of daily living, such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, going out to appointments, community outings, giving medications, and help with all levels of personal care needs like showering and toileting. Locations include: Longmeadow, Ludlow, Springfield, East Longmeadow, Chicopee, Southwick, and West Springfield. We have Full time, Part time and per diem openings with all shifts available. All shifts require candidates to be available for weekend. Pay rate - $18/hour (per diem) - $20/hour (full & part time). All qualified candidates will be called after applying to schedule a reserved interview time to meet with a hiring manager with potential for an on-the-spot job offer!
Requirements
- Valid driver's license (all drivers under the age of 21 must have 3 years of driving history).
- Willingness to provide personal care to residents served.
- Availability for weekend shifts.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with individuals that have medical and/or behavioral complexities.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- MAP certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
- Accompany residents to appointments and community outings.
- Administer medications.
- Provide personal care, including showering and toileting.
