Direct Care Worker (East Lansing)
About The Position
Alternative Services is seeking kind, compassionate, and genuine individuals to join their team as Direct Care Workers/Direct Support Professionals in the East Lansing, MI area. The mission is to support people with disabilities to live meaningful lives. This role involves providing 24-hour care, 365 days a year, in a small group home setting (Adult Foster Care home), building positive and caring relationships with adults with disabilities. The company is dedicated to employee growth, job satisfaction, and well-being, and has been a leader in the industry for over 47 years. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, with no prior experience necessary.
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Possess a valid Michigan Driver's license
- Excellent moral character
Responsibilities
- Assist in a variety of daily living activities, including personal care (hygiene, basic health, administering medication)
- Perform cleaning, cooking, and shopping duties
- Serve as an advocate and role model in all interactions with persons served
- Help support individuals as they participate in leisure activities (at-home and in the community)
- Respect the rights, dignity, property, and privacy of persons served
