About The Position

Futures Through Choices is seeking compassionate, caring, energetic, creative, and fun individuals to join their team as Direct Care Support Staff. This entry-level, part-time position focuses on helping individuals with disabilities achieve their greatest potential and become as self-sufficient as possible. Responsibilities include assisting clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene needs (including toileting, showering, and changing briefs), and promoting their right to make choices, such as selecting healthy menus. The role also involves taking clients into the community, attending events, and preparing crafts and other activities. Additionally, staff are responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary living environment, including basic housekeeping and laundry, to promote independent living.

Responsibilities

• Helping clients become as self-sufficient as they are physically and mentally able.
• Assisting clients in preparing meals.
• Assisting clients with hygiene needs (toileting, showering, changing briefs).
• Helping clients make the best choices for themselves, such as choosing healthy menus, while promoting their right to make choices.
• Taking clients out into the community and attending events with them.
• Preparing crafts and other appropriate activities for clients.
• Ensuring the living area, including all contents and surrounding areas, are in a safe and sanitary condition.
• Performing basic housekeeping and laundry.
