About The Position
We are looking for a Direct Care Support Professional to provide 2:1 support for a young man in the Lititz area. This is more than a traditional caregiving role. It is for someone who understands that behavior is often a way of communicating. You will help create a supportive, person-centered environment by building trust, helping with emotional regulation, and supporting meaningful community involvement.
Requirements
- NADD certificate or Bachelor’s degree (Psychology, Education, Social Work, or Recreational Therapy) required.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to pass required background clearances.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with behavior support is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide personalized support: Follow and help guide support plans based on the person’s interests, strengths, and sensory needs.
- Support emotional regulation: Use positive, proven strategies to help the person stay calm, feel safe, and work through difficult moments.
- Encourage community involvement: Help the person take part in the Lititz community in ways that are meaningful, respectful, and comfortable.
- Keep clear records: Track support needs, progress, trends, and important milestones through notes and data collection.
