About The Position

Neulife Rehabilitation (NLR) provides post-acute rehabilitation and residential services for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Spinal Cord Injuries, and Neurological Disorders. We are seeking a dedicated Direct Care Staff professional with experience supporting individuals with ABI and TBI injuries that will care for patients in NeuLife's neurological rehabilitation setting, under the direction of nursing and medical staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and physically assist individuals with mobility limitations
  • Strong observational, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with ABI or TBI preferred
  • Certified Medication Aide (CMA) or Med Tech certification preferred
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lifts, turns, moves, positions, and transports clients as appropriate for their condition
  • Assists clients with baths, showers, personal grooming, feeding, and toileting
  • Follows NeuLife's safety policies and procedures when lifting, turning, moving, positioning, or transporting a client or assisting with the client with normal daily activities
  • Accurately documents and charts patient care to include vitals and personal interactions
  • Respond to call lights promptly.
  • Resolves client issue at time of initial response
  • Exhibits excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards clients
  • Assists in the evacuation of patients
  • Demonstrates dependable, regular attendance. Arrived to work on time and departs as scheduled.
  • Demonstrates ability to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours without restrictions
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
