About The Position

Sentara CarePlex Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Medicine Unit, 4 James, which provides care to acute and chronic patients aged 18 and up, with a focus on the senior population. This role offers opportunities for career advancement into leadership or specialized areas. The position involves primary duties such as assessing and admitting patients, conducting rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and overseeing the overall care of patients. The unit emphasizes teamwork to ensure optimal patient care. The hospital welcomes both new graduates and seasoned nurses who are compassionate, dependable, flexible, and hardworking. New graduate RNs with less than one year of experience are automatically enrolled in Sentara’s dynamic 6-month Nurse Residency program, which combines practical skills, hands-on training, professional development, and mentoring to facilitate a confident transition into nursing careers across various specialties like Medical Surgical, Intermediate Care, Critical Care, Emergency Care, Operating Room, or Women’s Health.

Requirements

  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
  • RN-Associate’s Degree, or RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or RN-Diploma, or RN-Master’s Degree
