About The Position

Devereux Arizona’s 24-hour Residential Treatment Center (RTC) in Scottsdale is seeking Direct Care Professionals (DCP) and Lead Direct Care Professionals (Lead DCP). The RTC serves youth aged 7-17 who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or substance abuse challenges, providing a safe and supportive environment. The campus includes dormitories, a therapeutic K-12 day school, food services, medical/nursing, and therapy services. This is an opportunity to conduct on-the-spot interviews during a hiring event.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Six (6) weeks of behavioral health work experience required (Direct Care Professional).
  • Supervisory experience preferred (Lead Direct Care Professional).
  • One (1) year of work experience in behavioral health service delivery or Six (6) months Devereux experience (Lead Direct Care Professional).
  • Required to attend 2 weeks of new hire orientation (paid) Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm.
  • Required to attend an additional 2-3 weeks of on-the-job training.
  • Valid unrestricted Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check.
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions).
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable).
  • Drug test within 24 hours of offer with negative results.
  • Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to systematically reduce the risk of abuse.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and assist with the day-to-day schedule for campus individuals.
  • Assist individuals with their mental health, managing behaviors and emotional needs.
  • De-escalate crisis situations.
  • Implement treatment plans.
  • Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing).
  • Assist with medication management.
  • Provide transport.
  • Foster social skills.
  • Document progress for daily, weekly, and monthly logs.
  • Adhere to the activity schedule.
  • Attend weekly clinical supervision meetings.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of enrichment activities such as art projects, music groups, culinary arts, various athletics (basketball, soccer, swimming), and adult-transition prep.
  • Ensure the health and safety of campus individuals (Lead DCP).
  • Assist Program Managers with supervising, planning, and implementation of day-to-day program activities (Lead DCP).
  • Be an active member of the treatment team (Lead DCP).
  • Facilitate programming that promotes treatment goals and developmental skills (Lead DCP).
  • Serve as a role model, mentor, leader, and trainer to Direct Care Professionals (Lead DCP).
