About The Position
Devereux Arizona’s Brief Intervention Program (BIP) is a short-term, intensive residential treatment program designed for youth who require stabilization, therapeutic support and 24-hour supervision in a structured and secure environment. Serving youth, ages 7 to 17, the BIP provides a safe space for healing and skill-building. The program is designed for individuals experiencing significant challenges in social, emotional, psychiatric and/or psychological functioning, and who may not have responded to previous community-based services. Our goal is to work closely with families and treatment teams to assess, stabilize and prepare youth for a successful return to home, foster care or another community-based setting – as quickly and safely as possible. Direct Care Professionals (DCP) provide direct supervision and assist the day-to-day schedule for individuals. Direct support duties include: Helping individuals with their mental health, managing behaviors and emotional needs, de-escalating crisis situations, treatment plan implementation Personal care (bathing, dressing), medication management, transport, and fostering social skills Documenting progress for daily, weekly, and monthly logs, adhering to the activity schedule, and attending weekly clinical supervision meetings Assisting with the planning and implementation of enrichment activities such as art projects, music groups, culinary arts, various athletics (basketball, soccer, swimming), and adult-transition prep!
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Six (6) weeks of behavioral health work experience required
- Ability to attend full time new hire orientation Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm (paid)
- Pass drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
- Pass Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment
- Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check
- Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions)

- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or relevant field preferred
Responsibilities
