This is a senior-level exempt management position that works collaboratively with the ED and Principal Investigators providing strategic oversight of the research program. It develops, directs, implements, and evaluates research strategies while coordinating with other departments within the organization that impact all aspects of the clinical trial. Functioning at a highly strategic level, it provides leadership and guidance in the development of new processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of organizational strategic outcomes for clinical trials, resulting in the success of the research program. It provides oversight of research processes, SOPs, and policies. Responsibilities include overseeing the financial matters of the department, supervising research staff, training and mentoring, providing or facilitating research continuing education activities, and engaging staff in research initiatives and activities. Ensures site research quality by practicing in compliance with US Oncology Research, Inc. (USOR) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
