About The Position

The Diocese of Lansing seeks a Diocesan Schools Analyst to support the financial health, accessibility, and long-term sustainability of Catholic schools across the diocese. This position provides financial analysis, enrollment and tuition modeling, funding administration, and strategic reporting to help school and diocesan leaders make informed decisions. The analyst serves as a key resource for principals, pastors, and diocesan leadership while supporting a network of 36 Catholic schools. The position is 30 hours per week with a full benefits package.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, or business planning.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical, communication, and project management abilities.
  • Demonstrate support for the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church and a commitment to advancing Catholic education within a faith-based environment.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, MBA, Master’s degree, or related professional certification.
  • Experience in Catholic schools, educational finance, nonprofit finance, or diocesan administration.
  • Experience with FACTS Financial Aid Management, Tuition Management, and related student information systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, Power BI, and data analytics tools.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze school budgets (within the context of the parish budgets), enrollment trends, tuition models, and financial performance to support strategic planning.
  • Administer approximately $1 million annually in diocesan tuition assistance grants and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Oversee the diocesan Per Pupil Funding Model, which distributes more than $5 million annually to Catholic schools.
  • Develop financial forecasts, dashboards, and reports for diocesan leadership.
  • Conduct school viability and sustainability analyses, including enrollment, demographic, and financial assessments.
  • Support compliance with state and federal funding requirements and assist with reporting and audits.
  • Maintain data systems, perform benchmarking analyses, and present findings to stakeholders.
