About The Position

Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA is seeking a Dining Services Worker. This is an entry level, PRN (approximately 16- hours/week) position. Hours are primarily Evenings from 4 PM to 9 PM with occasional need for hours from 11 AM to 4 PM on weekends. Performs routine food service tasks under direct supervision. Displays a cheerful, helpful, and courteous appearance.

Requirements

• Ability and willingness to learn new skills
• Ability to work well with all types of individuals
• Previous customer service experience preferred (0-2 years)

Nice To Haves

• Previous customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior cashier/cash handling experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of small quantities of fresh produce and related salad items and desserts
• Service and storage of foods
• Cleaning and sanitation of work areas, equipment, dishware
• Wait staff duties to residents while in service areas such as café and Dogwood Dining Rooms
• Assist with preparation of salads appetizers, desserts, and garnish
• Operates the cash register and follows all cash handling procedures as assigned
• Stocks beverage area as well as grab and go items
• Assist other team members with job duties as needed or assigned
• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation in dining service areas
