At NYU, Café 181 and Crave are vibrant, high-energy dining destinations serving a diverse and discerning student population. We’re seeking a Director of Dining Services who thrives in a fast-paced setting, values innovation, and is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences. As Director, you will serve as the driving force behind daily operations—leading a talented team, elevating culinary programs, and building strong client partnerships. This is a highly visible leadership role with the opportunity to shape the dining experience at a premier urban campus.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of progressive foodservice leadership experience, ideally in high-volume environments
  • Proven success managing high-volume production and catering operations
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget management and P&L oversight
  • A passion for innovation, team development, and delivering best-in-class service
  • Desire to grow your career within a top-tier foodservice organization

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, and motivate a diverse team of associates, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and growth
  • Oversee day-to-day dining operations for Café 181 and Crave, ensuring seamless service and an elevated guest experience
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with NYU stakeholders, becoming a trusted and strategic partner on campus
  • Partner with the Executive Chef and leadership team to design innovative menus and deliver high-quality, on-trend dining options
  • Own the account’s financial performance, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls
  • Execute and launch new culinary concepts and dining initiatives that reflect evolving student preferences and industry trends
  • Collaborate with campus departments and support teams to enhance the overall dining experience
