About The Position

Responsible for assisting with preparing lunch and dinner meals. Dietary Routine Uses facility procedures for basic food preparations, recipe standardization, portion control, temperature control, handling leftovers, menu substituting, receiving and storage. Prepares toast, cereal, etc for breakfast and sets on table. Prepares salads and desserts for lunch and sets on table. Assists with plating up breakfast meal meeting the dietary requirements for each resident. Understands basic nutrition, modified diets and menus used in this facility. Meets all residents’ special requests, changes to their meal, etc. Delivers and serves noon meal to residents in Assisted Living. Recordkeeping/Communication Is familiar and abides with the policies and procedures of the Food Service Department. Assist with written records as assigned, including refrigerator and freezer temps, meal temps, production logs, etc. Safety Uses acceptable personal habits in areas of sanitation and safety. Practices safe handling of food items regarding infection control. Uses equipment safely and following facility procedures. Cleaning Cleans kitchen after meals, including prep areas, steam table, etc. Sweep kitchen floor after meals daily. Washes pots, pans and other kitchen utensils and equipment used for cooking after meals. Is responsible for deep cleaning kitchen as scheduled and within federal and state regulations. Other Duties Complete ServSafe certification provided by the facility. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Six months of related experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Enthusiasm, courtesy, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with others to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ability to attend work regularly and on time.
  • Maintains confidentiality of resident and employee information.
  • Adheres to Manor personal appearance guidelines as well as any department dress code.
  • Attends and participates in in-services and department meetings.
