About The Position

The Catering Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, creative development, and flawless execution of all catered events at Plymouth Harbor, including resident events, private functions, internal events, and special community gatherings. This role serves as the primary visionary and operational lead for catering, working closely with the Banquet Coordinator, culinary leadership, and service teams to deliver exceptional, memorable experiences that reflect Plymouth Harbor’s standards of excellence. In addition to catering leadership, the Catering Manager provides hands-on support and oversight for front-of-house daily dining operations across campus, including Independent Living, Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. This position ensures consistent service standards, seamless coordination, and an elevated dining experience for residents and guests in all levels of care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all catered events from concept to execution, ensuring exceptional quality, service, and guest experience.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for high-level catering inquiries, complex events, and signature experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with the Banquet Coordinator to assign responsibilities, timelines, staffing, and logistics.
  • Partner with Culinary Leadership on menu development, tastings, and presentation standards.
  • Ensure accurate pricing, billing, contracts, and event documentation.
  • Follow up with residents, families, and internal stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and continuous improvement.
  • Lead execution on event days, serving as on-site manager and problem-solver.
  • Bring creativity and innovation to catered events, including themes, décor concepts, menus, and service styles.
  • Research catering and hospitality trends to elevate Plymouth Harbor’s event offerings.
  • Assist in the creation and ongoing enhancement of the Annual Special Events Calendar.
  • Develop signature events and experiences that enhance resident engagement and community appeal.
  • Collaborate on menu artwork, signage, event layouts, and presentation elements as needed.
  • Ensure catering operations align with Plymouth Harbor policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Coordinate venues, equipment, rentals, staffing, and timelines for all catered events.
  • Monitor catering inventory, supplies, and equipment needs; ensure timely ordering and replenishment.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and event documentation.
  • Ensure food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service compliance at all events.
  • Provide functional oversight and mentorship to the Banquet Coordinator.
  • Lead and support catering service staff during events.
  • Partner with Dining Services leadership to ensure appropriate staffing and service support.
  • Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event reviews as needed.
  • Foster strong communication between front-of-house, back-of-house, and administrative teams.
