About The Position
The Dining Services Associate is responsible for various tasks within dining services, including dishwashing, food preparation, and maintaining a 24-hour snack bar. This role involves ensuring safe food handling practices and proper equipment maintenance. Key duties also include keeping the dining room clean by performing tasks such as wiping tables, resetting, vacuuming, and general cleaning to remove food debris. The associate will serve food according to the menu, focusing on appropriate and appetizing presentation. A significant aspect of the position is to contribute to a home-like atmosphere for both personnel and residents.
Requirements
- Must be certified in First Aid and safe food handling.
- Must be able to interpret written and oral instructions in English.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in food service position is desirable, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Dishwashing and food preparation.
- Performs duties related to safe food preparation and appropriate use and maintenance of equipment.
- Prepares and maintains adequate supply of juices, condiments and snacks in a 24-hour snack bar.
- Keeps dining room clean by wiping down tables, resetting, vacuuming, and cleaning surfaces to keep free from food debris.
- Serves all food as outlined by menu and ensures appropriate and appetizing presentation of food items.
- Assists personnel and residents in establishing a home-like atmosphere.
