About The Position
The Part-time Dining Services Assistant provides assistance in all dining services functions as directed and instructed in accordance with established dining services policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to perform simple calculations
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to work every-other weekend and every-other holiday
Responsibilities
- Serving meals in dining rooms and delivering trays, as instructed and in accordance with established portions and dietary restrictions and guidelines
- Checking trays for appropriateness prior to distribution
- Assisting with daily scheduled cleaning duties including surfaces, refrigerators, freezers, and floors
- Preparing meal trays, food carts, dining rooms, etc. for meal service
- Distributing and collecting resident menus
- Delivering food service carts and trays to designated areas
- Performing dishwashing and cleaning procedures
- Preparing and delivering snacks
- Assisting in preparation, set-up, service, and clean-up for special events and parties
- Following established safety guidelines and providing a safety environment for residents and coworkers
- Ensuring residents' rights are protected
