About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring a Dining Service Supervisor at Fieldstone at Chester Springs. This role involves supervising the day-to-day operation of the residents' dining room and dining experience to assure resident satisfaction. The supervisor will play an active role in growing community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members, and professionals. The position requires overseeing the service of meals, cleanliness, preparation, training, and staffing of the dining room, and assisting the Culinary Services Director to ensure efficient operation of the culinary service department. The role also involves communication with the Executive Director and culinary team, attending meetings, and ensuring timely preparation of sick trays and room trays. The supervisor is responsible for maintaining the proper order of service, assisting with table service, scheduling associates, planning events, ordering supplies, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and terminating dining room personnel. Additionally, they will conduct and monitor orientation and ongoing training, manage daily menus, ensure the dining room is ready for service according to LCB standards, anticipate and meet resident needs, and ensure staff compliance with uniform policy. The supervisor will also greet residents, assist with seating, support dining room staff with pre-bussing, dessert service, clearing, and resetting, and monitor and maintain dining room inventories, communicating needs for replenishment. Finally, they will supervise and secure the closing of the dining area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years in the food service field.
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
  • Current ServSafe certificate.
  • Knowledge of culinary service environment.
  • Ability to communicate professionally.
  • Experience with buffet catering.
  • Working knowledge of all kitchen equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful complete of a reputable course in food management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co-workers and the surrounding community.
  • Have an active role in growing community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members and professionals.
  • Oversee the service of meals to residents in the dining room, function rooms and other designated areas of service.
  • Oversees the cleanliness, preparation, training and staffing of the dining room.
  • Assist the Culinary Services Director to assure efficient operation of the culinary service department. Works in all areas of the culinary service department including but not limited to the dining room.
  • Communicates with the Executive Director and culinary and attends meetings as requested.
  • Communicates with kitchen staff to ensure that sick trays and room trays are prepared and ready on time as requested.
  • Maintains the proper order of service for all meals.
  • Assists with Table Service as needed.
  • Assists with scheduling associates, planning events and ordering supplies.
  • Interviews, hires, counsels and terminates dining room personnel in accordance with company policy and guidelines.
  • Conducts and monitors orientation and ongoing training with the Food Servers.
  • Monitors the maintenance, printing and distribution of the daily menus.
  • Ensures that dining room is ready for service according to LCB standards.
  • Ensures that resident needs are anticipated and met in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that all dining staff complies with company uniform policy.
  • Greets residents during dinner and supper service observing dining room schedule for each meal period.
  • Assists residents to table and fulfills seating needs as requested.
  • Assists the dining room staff with pre-bussing and dessert service.
  • Assists the dining room staff in clearing and resetting the dining room.
  • Monitors and maintains inventories of items in the dining room (i.e. coffee, tea, sugar, sugar substitutes, salt, pepper, crackers, dressings, ice creams, silver ware, glassware, china, and linen). Communicates needs to replenish inventory with manager for ordering purposes.
  • Supervises and secures the closing of the dining area at appropriate time.
