About The Position

South Port Square is seeking a hospitality-driven professional to join their growing team as a Dining Room Supervisor. This role is responsible for being the primary Food and Beverage contact until management arrives. The supervisor verifies schedules, checks deliveries, and carries the Food and Beverage cell phone. They also provide coverage for any area or server station in the absence of scheduled dining room staff.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • A minimum of one year Host/Hostess or Lead Server experience within a fine restaurant, club, hotel, or similar institution.
  • Available 7 days a week with a primary schedule of 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM.
  • Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process, and understand requests.
  • Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with, and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.
  • State applicable health and/or alcohol compliance card required.
  • Background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the physical appearance of the dining room area and server stations including table pedestals, table place settings, chairs, floors, drapes, and lighting in the absence of the Dining Room Manager.
  • Coordinates the seating of residents and guests in an efficient, courteous manner.
  • Schedules stations and work assignments for the wait staff and checks out servers to ensure standards are met.
  • Holds staff accountable for following rules and procedures.
  • Records meal counts, reservations, and additional charges.
  • Utilizes complete knowledge of the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Confers with the Dining Room Manager regarding dining room status.
  • Confers with the Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage regarding any food, staffing, or service issues.
  • Makes morning rounds of the dining room, server stations, and kitchen, and checks staff levels.
  • Provides coffee service for Residents' events and Administration.
  • Carries the Food and Beverage cell phone for call-outs.
  • Cross-trained on dietary aides.
  • Reports damage on broken equipment to the Food & Beverage Director.
  • Participates in cost control measures.
  • Waits tables and provides beverage and bar services as needed.
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
