About The Position

Provide prompt service to residents in accordance with the guidelines of the Dining Room Service Manual. Answer and respond immediately to resident inquiries and requests. If necessary, escort residents to their tables in the Dining Room. Observe and report to the Supervisor any significant changes in residents' appetite and/or behavior. Prepare the Dining Room prior to the meal services as per the Dining Room Supervisor's instructions. Clean up following meals (including vacuuming and/or sweeping floors) and set up for the next seating. Keep track of resident attendance at each seating, including the number of guests. Assist with kitchen preparation as assigned by the Supervisor, including salad prep, butter dishes, milk pitchers, etc. Update menu jackets daily, as instructed.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a food-serving establishment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Competent in organizational, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Sense of responsibility and pleasant demeanor.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • High level of stamina to work on feet for extended periods.
