About The Position

The Dining Room Server provides high-quality meal service and helps create a gracious dining environment for residents. The role involves accurately communicating and taking orders, relaying orders to back-of-house staff, and providing exceptional customer service. The server is present in the dining room for full meal service, assists with scheduled special functions, and oversees bistro areas as directed. The position is full-time, pays $19.00–$19.50 per hour, is non-exempt, and is scheduled for evenings.

Requirements

• Knowledge of and ability to meet ADA, state, infection-control, health department, and OSHA regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in the dietary department of a healthcare facility or restaurant is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality meal service and help maintain a gracious dining environment.
• Accurately communicate with residents, take meal orders, and relay orders to back-of-house staff.
• Provide exceptional customer service in interactions with residents.
• Be present in the dining room for full meal service.
• Assist with special functions as scheduled.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and a sanitary, infection-free environment.
• Oversee bistro areas as directed, including food presentation, cleanliness, stocking supplies and beverages, and making popcorn.
• Know the daily specials and how they are prepared and presented.
• Learn residents’ names, dietary needs, requests, likes, and dislikes.
• Ensure hot food is served hot and cold food is served cold.
• Participate in the Quality Assurance Committee as directed.
• Sanitize tables and chairs, reset tables, and vacuum the floor after each meal.
• Attend trainings, orientation, and mandatory meetings.
