About The Position

The Dining Room Manager is responsible for the daily management and execution of dining room operations, ensuring an exceptional level of service for Club members and guests. This position serves as the leader on the dining room floor, providing hands-on supervision, coaching, and support to front-of-house staff while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, professionalism, and service excellence expected in a private country club environment. The Dining Room Manager must maintain a strong floor presence during all meal periods, actively engage with members, oversee service flow, and ensure the dining experience reflects the Club’s standards.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a restaurant, hotel, private club, or upscale hospitality environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of dining room service standards and front-of-house operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a service team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong member-service focus.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for a private country club environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced service environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary leader and point of contact on the dining room floor during service.
  • Maintain a consistent presence throughout dining areas to monitor service quality, assist staff, and ensure member satisfaction.
  • Welcome and engage with members and guests, creating a warm and personalized dining experience.
  • Supervise daily dining room operations, including opening, closing, and service procedures.
  • Direct and support servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff during meal periods.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily expectations, menu updates, Club events, and service priorities.
  • Monitor table service, timing, accuracy, presentation, and overall guest experience.
  • Assist staff with challenging service situations and resolve member concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Work closely with kitchen leadership to ensure proper communication between front-of-house and culinary teams.
  • Ensure dining rooms, lounges, and service areas are clean, organized, and prepared according to Club standards.
  • Train, coach, and mentor service staff to improve performance and maintain consistent service levels.
  • Assist with employee scheduling, attendance management, and daily staffing adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with Club policies, safety standards, sanitation requirements, and service procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels of service supplies, beverages, and front-of-house materials.
  • Assist with special events, private functions, and member activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of menus, wine selections, beverage offerings, and Club policies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service efficiency and enhance the member experience.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing training of new Food & Beverage employees.
  • Assist management with performance feedback and employee development.
  • Complete required opening/closing duties, side work inspections, and operational checklists.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
