Under the direction of the Culinary Director, the Dining Room Manager is responsible for ensuring a high-quality, positive dining experience for residents. This role requires excellent communication skills, compassion for older adults, and training/experience in dietary/food service techniques. The manager must be able to read and interpret facility forms and instructions, and effectively communicate verbally. Key duties include overseeing customer service, assisting with staff training and recruitment, ensuring proper staff appearance and adherence to the employee handbook, managing staff scheduling and work assignments to ensure adequate coverage while maintaining staffing guidelines, upholding hygienic food handling and dining room sanitation standards, assisting with special event setups, maintaining regulatory compliance, overseeing dietary equipment, executing emergency procedures, reporting maintenance needs, supervising staff, and overseeing kitchen operations when acting as cook. The position also involves other duties as assigned by the Culinary Director and/or Executive Director.
