About The Position

The Restaurant Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation across all restaurant and public areas. This role plays a key part in ensuring a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to read and understand English
  • Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and tools & WHMIS as it pertains to mixing chemicals.
  • Knowledge of proper sanitation and cleaning techniques
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, reaching)
  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent education/experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience in a restaurant, hotel, or similar environment is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning floors, including carpet and tile surfaces, using vacuums, mops and related tools and equipment.
  • Daily cleaning of windows and window frames
  • Thorough cleaning and sanitization of public washrooms
  • Cleaning wooden ledges, railings, chairs, and benches
  • Wet dusting artificial flowers and watering plants
  • Dusting and cleaning ceiling vents and door trims
  • Polishing brass signage and trim
  • Ensuring all cleaning tasks are conducted with health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Regular monitoring and maintenance of floor conditions to prevent slip and fall hazards (e.g., promptly cleaning spills, placing wet floor signage, ensuring proper use of cleaning products)
  • Proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with WHMIS guidelines
  • Reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly
  • Other duties as assigned
