About The Position

Palomar Christian Conference Center (PCCC) exists to reach the lost for Christ and pursue spiritual growth through the study of God's Word. This position is responsible for providing an uplifting, distraction-free, and Christ-centered camp experience by meeting guest needs, providing a hospitable environment for dining, maintaining health and safety standards, and collaborating with the Food Service department to uphold the department's vision.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, exercising personal faith through consistent daily living in accordance to God’s Word.

  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Possesses excellent customer service skills and presents a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Possesses strong attention to detail and organization while managing multiple priorities.
  • Is teachable in managerial and interpersonal skills, is self-directed, flexible, creative and a good communicator.
  • Enjoys and relates well with others, exhibits patience and a strong Christian witness.
  • Must have or obtain a food handler’s certificate.
  • Able to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee may be required to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Meet guests' needs to the best of their ability.
  • Get meals out on time.
  • Organize seating for groups and ensures that tables are appropriately set.
  • Coordinate with the Food Service Manager on staggering meal times.
  • Provide a hospitable environment for guests and staff to eat.
  • Clean dining hall before and after meals.
  • Set up and tear down dining hall for meals.
  • Notify Food Service Manager of needed repairs or safety issues.
  • Maintain an inventory of product needed in the Dining hall.
  • Gather feedback from guests by interacting with them during and after meals.
  • Maintain all standards put in place by Food Service manager and the San Diego Health Department.
  • Assist Food Service Manager in ensuring all guests and staff members follow proper food safety practices.
  • Make announcements for guests welcoming them to camp while explaining PCCC meal procedures.
  • Keep buffet line clean and orderly.
  • Keep drink station clean and orderly.
  • Work with the rest of the Food Service department to ensure Food service vision is seen by all camp and guests.
  • When needed, assist the rest of the Food service department in daily prep and cleaning tasks.
  • When needed, assist other departments around camp to ensure guests have a Christ centered experience.
  • Keep regular, timely attendance while maintaining a clean, safe and unobstructed workplace.
  • Accept lodging from PCCC as a condition of employment to carry out responsibilities of the fire evacuation plan.
  • Take part in the fire evacuation plan for the area that they are assigned.
