The Dining Ambassador is responsible for communications between nursing units and Dietetic Services regarding patient menus, diet changes, tray delivery, and general patient services. This role assesses a patient's ability to utilize the meal ordering system and ensures service accuracy, adhering to standards for food quality and service excellence. The Dining Ambassador also develops menu tallies for food production and monitors NPO and tube feeding protocols. A key responsibility is accurately and efficiently responding to physician diet order changes by providing patients with menus that correspond to their diet orders. This role maintains critical communication with dietitians and department management regarding patient concerns, aiming for a high level of patient service and satisfaction. Computer-related activities are also part of the duties, performed in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
