About The Position

The Digital Test Engineer is responsible for executing software quality assurance across the storeLink platform, which supports in-store price tag printing, ESL management, and digital video screen display for grocery and drug retailers. This role combines hands-on manual functional testing with automated test development and maintenance. Working across an Azure-hosted microservices architecture (Angular, .NET Core, MS SQL, AKS), the Digital Test Engineer will write clear test cases, validate web APIs and UI workflows, execute automated regression suites, and collaborate closely with engineering sprint teams and L2 technical support to ensure high software quality and data integrity. This is a hybrid position for employees within 40 miles of a Vestcom location. Otherwise, this is a remote position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software quality assurance, covering both manual and automated testing methodologies.
  • Direct experience writing and maintaining automated UI and API test suites using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium (Playwright preferred).
  • Proficiency in writing and executing T-SQL queries for backend data validation, with a practical understanding of RESTful web APIs, microservices architecture, and modern single-page applications (Angular).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure), containerization (AKS), CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions), and superior technical troubleshooting skills supporting weekly delivery cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Execute hands-on manual and automated testing across storeLink feature areas, including print workflows, ESL device integrations, and digital media displays.
  • Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright (or related tools such as Cypress or Selenium) integrated into GitHub Actions pipelines.
  • Validate web API microservices (.NET Core), front-end components (Angular), and database updates (MS SQL Managed Instance).
  • Collaborate with product and sprint teams to define, write, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases based on feature specifications.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects while conducting data integrity checks and regression testing using T-SQL queries across Dev, QA, Stage, and Production environments.
