About The Position

The Digital Azure Solution Engineer, Infrastructure & Modernization helps mid-market customers transform their businesses using Microsoft Azure. In this technical sales role, the engineer guides customers through cloud migration, optimization, and modernization, translating technical capabilities into business outcomes and designing scalable, secure, and resilient architectures. The role uses Azure services including Azure Migrate, Virtual Machines, App Service, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Storage, and Azure SQL, and applies the 6R strategy to modernization. It also explores ways AI and intelligent agents can accelerate legacy transformation and prepare customer environments for future innovation.

The engineer designs hybrid and cloud-native solutions, including virtual networks, VPNs, and secure routing architectures that meet performance, security, and compliance requirements. Working with Microsoft teams, partners, and customer stakeholders, the role leads customer engagements, supports technical decisions, resolves blockers, and helps deliver solutions that improve agility and modernize customer environments. Microsoft learning resources and support for industry-recognized certifications are available to deepen expertise in cloud infrastructure, security, and AI.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and at least 2 years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with cloud and hybrid or on-premises infrastructure, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and at least 5 years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience, or equivalent experience.
• Certification in relevant Microsoft or industry technologies or disciplines, such as Microsoft Office 365, Power BI, Azure Architect and Development exams, Cloud Platform Technologies, Information Security, or Architecture.
• Experience or knowledge in enterprise applications such as SAP and Oracle, and Cloud & AI VMware Solution (AVS).

Responsibilities

• Drive technical sales through technical demos, proofs of concept, technical architectures, and consultative selling to influence solution design and enable deployments.
• Lead architecture sessions and technical workshops to accelerate cloud adoption.
• Build trusted relationships with platform leads to co-design secure, scalable solutions.
• Resolve technical blockers by collaborating with engineering and sharing customer insights.
• Maintain expertise in cloud migration for Windows, Linux, SQL, and application workloads, as well as resiliency, security, and compliance.
• Deepen knowledge of enterprise applications such as SAP and Oracle, and Cloud & AI VMware Solution (AVS).
• Represent Microsoft in customer forums and technical communities through thought leadership.
• Guide customers through infrastructure modernization and help shape technical decisions for business-critical workloads.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, partners, and customer stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
