About The Position

FCC Canada, part of the Construction Division of FCC Group, is seeking a Digital Solutions Developer to join their team for the Scarborough Subway Extension (SSE - SRS) project. This role will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining digital platforms and tools to support quality and construction operations. The developer will transform manual workflows into automated systems, architect applications for tracking processes like deficiency management and quality scheduling, and manage data pipelines and integrations. The position involves establishing KPIs, developing dashboards, automating workflows, configuring databases, and acting as a Subject Matter Expert for quality systems. Training internal and external teams, ensuring system security, and continuously identifying opportunities for process improvement are also key aspects of the role. The developer will also create ad hoc tools to meet emerging project needs.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of experience in software development, data engineering, automation, or analytics, preferably within construction or complex project environments.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing end-to-end systems (from requirements to deployment).
  • Strong programming skills (e.g. Python, JavaScript, SQL).
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Experience with full-stack development frameworks (e.g. Next.js, Flask, or similar).
  • Experience designing and maintaining databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.) and building dashboards, KPI frameworks, and automated reporting solutions.
  • Knowledge of data integration across enterprise systems (e.g. SAP, Primavera P6, Aconex, SharePoint).
  • Understanding of application security practices (authentication, RBAC, data protection).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate ambiguous operational needs into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the design, development, and maintenance of digital platforms and tools supporting quality and construction operations.
  • Transform manual workflows into scalable, automated systems with full traceability and auditability.
  • Architect and maintain applications and data solutions for tracking processes such as deficiency management and closeout, Inspection and Test Plans, quality scheduling, etc.
  • Develop and manage data pipelines, storage solutions, and system integrations across platforms (e.g. SharePoint, Power Platform, Azure, project systems).
  • Establish and track KPIs, developing dashboards and reporting frameworks to monitor project performance.
  • Build and maintain operational dashboards and automated reporting tools to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders and support decision-making.
  • Automate workflows including document generation, approvals, notifications, and reporting processes.
  • Configure and maintain databases, tracking systems, and document repositories ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for quality systems, tools, and data workflows.
  • Train and onboard internal teams and external stakeholders ensuring consistent system usage, data quality, and adoption.
  • Ensure systems follow best practices in security, access control, and data governance.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and standardize processes across the project.
  • Develop ad hoc tools and solutions to address emerging project needs.
