About The Position

The Digital Software Engineer Intermediate Analyst is an early-career software engineering role responsible for developing, testing, and supporting modern digital applications and services. The position provides opportunities to build experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, cloud-native technologies, event-driven architectures, and API integrations while working alongside experienced engineers and architects. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a passion for delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions in a collaborative Agile environment.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of software engineering or application development experience, including internships, co-ops, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Basic understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native development principles and exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Exposure to event-driven architectures, messaging technologies, or asynchronous processing concepts.
  • Experience developing, consuming, or supporting RESTful APIs and system integrations.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and modern engineering practices.
  • Familiarity with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and development tools such as Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and exposure to Kubernetes/OpenShift concepts is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and contribute to modern engineering initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience through coursework, internships, personal projects, or professional experience building applications with Java, Spring Boot, APIs, or cloud technologies.
  • Exposure to Kafka, messaging platforms, or event-streaming technologies.
  • Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Exposure to automated testing frameworks and software quality tools.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar technologies to improve coding productivity and software quality.
  • Interest in cloud engineering, platform modernization, microservices, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices frameworks.
  • Support the design and implementation of cloud-native applications and services.
  • Participate in the development of event-driven solutions using messaging and integration technologies.
  • Build and support API integrations between internal and external systems.
  • Write secure, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and Agile development ceremonies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues with guidance from senior engineers when needed.
  • Learn and apply modern software engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and DevSecOps.
  • Utilize AI-powered developer tools to increase productivity, improve code quality, and accelerate learning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions that support business objectives.
  • Continuously expand technical knowledge of cloud, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems technologies.
