About The Position
Our digital services team has an opportunity for a tech-savvy and customer-focused individual. This role involves extensive interaction in assisting the public with technology available at the library, including our digital media lab and the Makerplace. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and enjoy helping others learn and use the latest gadgets, with an interest in tinkering, crafting, and learning new maker skills and technologies.
Requirements
- A positive and friendly customer service attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of and experience working with current and popular technologies such as Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, MS Office and digital media tools.
- High School Diploma required.
- 2-3 years customer services experience.
- Ability to provide own transportation between main library and makerspace branch.
Nice To Haves
- Interest in tinkering, crafting and a desire to learn new maker skills and technologies.
- 2-3 years college coursework preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the public with technology available at the library, including the digital media lab and the Makerplace.
- Help patrons learn and use various technologies and gadgets.
- Provide service coverage for staff on vacation, ill, or other scheduling gaps.
- Pick up additional hours when the department needs shift coverage.
