About The Position

The Digital Radiography Technician II for Alloy Surfaces Company (ASC) performs digital radiographic in-process, finished goods, and LAT inspections on decoys in accordance with IAW product acceptance requirements. This role involves setting up and operating digital radiographic equipment, calibrating it, and inspecting for various defects. The technician will also be responsible for labeling inspected units, participating in safety programs, controlling radiation areas, reporting test results, and performing minor equipment troubleshooting. Additionally, the role may involve specialized inspections, mentoring Level I technicians, and performing quality inspections as required. Other job functions include ensuring compliance with company policies, promoting ethical behavior, and complying with government and corporate laws and regulations. Special projects and additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Digital Radiographic Technician I or an equivalent combination of education and experience
On the job training hours acquired in accordance with NAS410
Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance commensurate with the level of facility clearance
Willing to work in an environment that requires a “Safety First” attitude. Must comply with all Safety, Health & Environmental rules/regulations prescribed by regulatory agencies that are incorporated into company policy
Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Ability to translate technical data into common terms
Level II NDT Certification required
Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills
Team player who works productively with a wide range of people
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with small components
Ability to function under stress and interact cordially with co-workers to accomplish common tasks
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
On-the-job training is required
Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, weighing up to 10 pounds occasionally and/or a negligible amount of weight frequently.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to handle loaded decoys on carts and in Ammo cans.
Involves standing and walking most of the time but may involve sitting for brief periods of time.
Use of computer.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate digital radiographic equipment for decoy payload inspection
Calibrate radiographic equipment as recommended by the equipment and software manufacturers
Inspect for payload stack-up and defective conditions (e.g. missing hardware, displaced foils or tilted pistons)
Label and identify inspected units as required by the QA SOP
Actively participate in Alloy Surfaces and client safety programs
Control the radiation area in accordance with the safety requirements of the state of Pennsylvania
Organize and report daily test results
Perform minor radiographic equipment troubleshooting, with remote assistance from the equipment manufacturer, installer or software developer
May perform specialized inspections
Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management
Mentor and train Level I technicians in preparation for obtaining their Level II NDT certifications
Perform quality inspections as required
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Code of Conduct, U.S. Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, and the Chemring Operational Framework
