About The Position

Waygate Technologies, a Baker Hughes company, is seeking a Digital Radiography Sales Manager to drive growth through consultative technical sales and help customers adopt advanced digital radiography and industrial X-ray solutions. This role involves building strong customer and channel partner relationships while expanding the adoption of Waygate Technologies’ digital radiography products, software, and services across a defined region. Waygate Technologies provides quality assurance tools (nondestructive testing) to various industries including O&G, aerospace, and defense. The commercial operations team is crucial in connecting customers with the business, and this role requires energy, new ideas, and dynamism.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in the Industrial NDT market segment with a good working knowledge of radiography.
  • A combination of at least 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, or NDT Radiography-related roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A good understanding of the O&G market, casting manufacturing processes, and field radiography.
  • The financial ability to provide quotations and ROI support.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • The ability to travel 35%-50% of the time.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, including managing a variety of ongoing reporting and other requirements.
  • The ability to spend up to 50% of working time traveling on jobs as required by the business; while not traveling, work will be remote with access to an office when needed.
  • Current work authorization in the country of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required if offset with extensive NDT Radiographic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Securing orders to meet or exceed assigned quarterly order targets.
  • Being a domain expert on Waygate Technologies Digital Radiography products, including Detectors (CR and DR), X-ray generators, and associated software, training, and services.
  • Owning the regional strategy to grow Waygate’s share position of Digital Radiography conversions and software/training/services through share growth at existing customers and identification/penetration of new customers.
  • Visiting customers throughout the assigned territory.
  • Maintaining the SFDC/Deal Machine opportunity pipeline tracking tool on a weekly basis and providing a quarterly order forecast.
  • Properly operating and demonstrating all standard products and demonstrating conversational knowledge of specialized or non-standard products.
  • Maintaining a current level of knowledge of application techniques.
  • Preparing and conducting sales presentations, addressing all relevant areas, up to the client’s board level.
  • Accurately preparing quotes, including pricing and technical data.
  • Assisting with and proposing promotional activities such as trade shows, seminars, etc.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of market activities, including competitive products, pricing strategies, policies, new technology, product specifications, and needs for new or enhanced products, and communicating this information to management.
  • Determining competitors’ approximate share position, strengths, and weaknesses, and incorporating that information into the territory growth strategy.
  • Building strong rapport and trust with dealers, existing end-user customers, and developing new customers.
  • Developing relationships with various decision makers (financial, technical, etc.) within complex accounts.
  • Closely interfacing with customer care, product management, and customer services.
  • Proactively learning about, promoting, and developing markets for Waygate’s NPIs (New Product Introductions).
  • Promptly following up on all sales leads and identifying new leads based on local market knowledge and cold calling.
  • Assisting customers in obtaining post-sales service, both in-warranty and out-of-warranty, and acting as a link between the customer and the appropriate Waygate service facility.
  • Being the customer’s advocate in providing after-sale support on any issue.
  • Negotiating projects with customers on technical and commercial levels until the contract is booked.
  • Checking customer POs and preparing for handover to customer care / order handling.
