About The Position

Vestcom is a standalone business unit of Avery Dennison, a Fortune 500 leader in materials science and packaging materials. This role involves performing data manipulation on the computer network, initiating jobs for production and laser printing on specific printer equipment, and staging printed jobs in the production area. The goal is to ensure a smooth transition flow through production to meet customer delivery deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform the functions of data manipulation on the computer network, initiating jobs for production and laser printing on specific printer equipment.
  • Stage printed jobs in the production area to ensure a smooth transition flow through production in order to meet the delivery deadlines of each customer while maintaining quality standards.
  • Assist with customer required directives, deliveries, changes, emergencies, problems with data and special files by printing accurately and efficiently.
  • Minimize waste and misuse of raw materials.
  • Communicate well with fellow associates, project coordinators, and the Facility Manager, while performing laser print functions by following daily job schedules.
  • Complete multiple tasks on multiple printers at the same time to help the work flow process.
  • Juggle the tasks of running the current customer being laminated, printing re-runs and starting the next customer’s work based on the schedule of the day.
  • Use ERP system to log time and materials.
  • Follow department guidelines for Total Cost Management activities.
  • Keep the work order system up to date and organized at all times.
  • Maintain records of jobs printed, tested and checked via log book and/or computer documents.
  • Ensure printing quality standards are being met by sampling, viewing and checking print jobs are processed.
  • Help maintain equipment by placing service calls to appropriate service technicians.
  • Maintain all inventory levels and pre-printed items that are stored in the warehouse and in the front shelving units in the correct locations.
  • Ensure data from each customer is arriving on time, and if not, alert a supervisor so they can make necessary notifications/decisions regarding late data.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, uses required PPE, and follows all safety rules and procedures.
  • May be required to work overtime or on another shift as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Compliance with applicable Company policies concerning maintaining a drug free workplace is required.
  • Compliance with all Company policies is required including all safety policies and procedures.
