About The Position

Versant is looking for a freelance/PEP Digital Operator to support the technical execution of digital productions across live streams, podcasts, remote recordings, and other digital-first formats. This role is based in New York, NY and requires on-site work. (Weekend availability required) This is a hands-on production role for someone who can operate with precision in fast-paced environments, troubleshoot quickly, and collaborate closely with producers, talent, engineering, and editorial teams to deliver seamless digital content experiences. As Versant continues to expand its digital production capabilities, this role will help ensure that live and recorded digital content is executed reliably, efficiently, and at a high technical standard. Success in this role means supporting smooth productions, maintaining strong operational workflows, and helping the team adapt as new platforms, formats, and technologies emerge.

Requirements

2+ years of experience supporting live, digital, or media production environments.
Hands-on experience operating vMix.
Experience using Riverside for remote recording and podcast production.
Familiarity with podcast production workflows, live streaming, and digital production environments.
Strong understanding of audio and video signal flow.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues under deadline pressure.
Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
Availability to work on-site in New York, NY, including weekends as needed.

Experience with livestreams for YouTube, social platforms, or OTT distribution
Experience with streaming encoders
Experience with production switchers
Experience with cloud-based production tools
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Premiere Pro and Audition
Experience with IP-based production workflows such as NDI or SRT
Experience with digital content distribution or social publishing workflows

Responsibilities

Operate and support live digital productions using vMix and related production tools, ensuring high-quality execution from setup through wrap.
Support remote recordings and podcast production workflows using Riverside, including technical setup, audio/video quality control, and post-production handoff.
Assist with live streaming, switching, graphics integration, recording, and monitoring across digital-first productions.
Prepare studios, equipment, and remote production environments ahead of live events, recordings, and digital shoots.
Troubleshoot technical issues quickly during live and recorded productions to minimize disruption and maintain production quality.
Coordinate with producers, talent, engineering, editorial, and cross-functional teams to support smooth execution and continuous workflow improvement.
