WFSB is looking for a driven, self-starting Digital News Content Creator to join our newsroom team. This is primarily a field-based, short-form video role, but make no mistake, we are looking for a journalist first. We want someone who lives and breathes TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts and brings the same editorial standards and storytelling instincts to digital that we expect in our broadcast newsroom. The right candidate doesn't wait to be told what to do; they're already out the door, camera in hand, chasing the story. Creativity and innovation are essential to this role. We want someone who is constantly thinking of new ways to tell local stories, experiment with formats, and push our digital presence forward. The core of this job is developing, shooting, and publishing multiple vertical short-form videos every day, finding viral-worthy local stories, getting out in the field to shoot them, and turning them around quickly for our digital audiences. The ideal candidate can act independently on news tips, confirm information with officials, craft engaging headlines and posts, and support breaking news coverage across platforms. This position will also fill in on weekends, nights, and holidays as needed.
