The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) is an emergency response entity where the Digital Media Officer will develop and execute digital media strategy to maximize agency branding and effectively engage with communities across the state. This role involves developing beneficial relationships and sharing pertinent preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation information with the public. The Digital Media Officer will utilize paid/earned advertising to implement the agency’s social media strategy, requiring the ability to develop effective social media marketing plans for targeted audiences. Additionally, the position supports the agency’s website development, design, management, operations, and content publishing. The officer will use the latest digital technologies for social media and website analytics and trends to produce reports that inform the overall agency communications strategy and goals. The TDEM maintains an all-hazards emergency management program for the State of Texas, specializing in Preparedness, Response, Recovery, and Mitigation activities, and works with cities, counties, and state agencies to enhance community resilience.
