About The Position

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Digital Marketing Intern to support NAMI Chicago’s marketing and communication efforts. This role is ideal for someone passionate about marketing, brand storytelling, social media, and communications. You’ll help produce and support engaging creative materials, craft compelling social media content, web copy, newsletters, and marketing collateral that align with our brand voice and increase awareness of mental health resources and support in the Chicagoland area.

Requirements

• Currently, pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Highly passionate about digital marketing and brand storytelling.
• Highly collaborative, organized with a strong attention to detail, and eager to learn.
• Possess strong written communication and visual skills.
• Have a basic understanding of content creation, website, and email tools such as Canva, Mailchimp, and WordPress.
• Familiar with MS Office and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.

Nice To Haves

• Creative and marketing/communications experience in producing basic graphics, short, and long-form videos.
• Ability to quickly ideate and produce real-time content capture.
• A background in non-profit or mental health/wellness is a plus.
• A background as a creator is a plus.
• Basic understanding of SEO principles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting, editing, and publishing posts across various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and YouTube.
• Create basic graphics and short video reels using tools such as Canva and Adobe Premiere.
• Update web pages with approved messaging and content while also supporting SEO optimization of NAMI Chicago’s website by utilizing relevant keywords and best practices.
• Collaborate with Programs to ensure alignment on relevant updates across social media channels.
• Participate in marketing and communication meetings, as well as brainstorming strategy sessions.
