About The Position

Visit Athens, the official tourism marketing organization for Athens-Clarke County, is seeking a Digital Marketing & Communications Intern. This role offers hands-on experience in B2C social media, email marketing, and content creation, with the opportunity to write blog articles that will be published with the intern's byline. The internship also provides exposure to press visits, networking with industry professionals, and learning about the tourism field. The position is crucial for promoting the city's tourism and contributing to the local economy.

Requirements

• Detail-oriented, professional, and reliable candidates
• Exceptional writing skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Must pass a drug screening and a criminal background check
• Open to students in their sophomore to senior year

• A particular interest in social media marketing is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist with B2C social media and email marketing campaigns
• Help create and maintain a Content Calendar using Asana and Sprout Social platforms
• Utilize Sprout Social scheduling and reporting features
• Write blog articles (with your byline included!)
• Participate in press visits during the internship period
• Gain exposure to destination marketing and economic development
