About The Position

This is a 1.0 FTE continuing contract position for a Digital Learning Coordinator TOSA (Teacher On Special Assignment). This position begins with the 2026-27 school year and includes some team learning and teacher preparation in August. The Digital Learning Coordinator is an experienced leader who will partner with the Manager of Digital Learning & Libraries as well as other coordinators and coaches to lead major projects related to Digital Learning & Libraries. The successful applicant will have experience as a teacher and/or librarian in a K-12 setting and possess significant experience in both project management and planning and facilitating professional learning opportunities for teachers and librarians. If the District decides not to fund this position in future years, in accordance with the District's certificated Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), you will be placed in another position. Per the CBA, this placement will be made based on available positions in your endorsed area and your seniority.

Requirements

  • Washington State Teaching Certificate and completion of (or current enrollment in) a School Library endorsement program.
  • A minimum of five years successful experience as a teacher, librarian, and/or digital learning coach.

  • Ability to apply digital learning across all levels/content areas
  • Knowledge of ISTE Ed Tech Standards, AASL Standards, and Common Core State Standards
  • Experience teaching in a 1:1 classroom/library setting

Responsibilities

  • Consult with administrators, departments, teacher leaders, and digital learning coaches to design and implement school-based, departmental, or district-wide professional learning that will support staff in using tech-levy funded resources to promote student engagement and to enhance and extend student learning opportunities.
  • Lead the development, implementation, evaluation, and ongoing revision of district plans for digital citizenship and digital/media literacy.
  • Prepare and coordinate communication plans with staff, students, and families on these topics.
  • Lead the collaborative work of district leaders, departments, and teachers to integrate state digital citizenship and media literacy standards into curriculum and professional development opportunities.
  • In collaboration with other Digital Learning staff, prepare and organize reference and training materials in various formats (e.g., written, video) for staff, students, or families in order to convey information or guidance related to tech-levy funded resources.
  • Train other staff to access and utilize these resources.
  • Liaise between the Tech Department and coaches/teachers in researching, leading pilots of, selecting, implementing, troubleshooting, and evaluating the implementation of tech-levy funded equipment and instructional resources.
  • Coordinating our school library program and leading librarians' learning. This includes conducting needs assessments of librarians to develop and implement plans for shared learning opportunities or collaborative work projects, as well as individual coaching of librarians.
  • Support and mentor digital learning coaches in reflecting on and deepening their practice of providing one-on-one and small-group coaching to classroom teachers, teams, and departments focused on integrating tech-levy funded resources (both hardware and digital applications) into effective instructional practices including unit/lesson and assessment design, analyzing student work, and supporting diverse learners.
  • Model and coach teachers in effective strategies for traditional/blended learning/flipped classroom planning and instruction, assessment and feedback, and interpretation of assessment results using tech-levy funded resources.
  • Engage in personal and team professional learning, and be coached by peers and supervisor.
  • Summer work outside of the contract days is required. (Staff are paid an hourly rate for their time.)
  • As necessary, and with supervisor approval, flex or extend contract day to meet the learning needs of staff. This will include varying start/end times for work days, availability in summer for planning and training, etc.
  • Travel to various district sites requires the use of a personal vehicle. Mileage will be reimbursed.
